Kenneth Raisen, 93, of Asheville, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Hyman and Molly Edelman Raisen, and step-son of the late Sally Raisen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Goldstein Raisen, and by his brother, Stanley Raisen.
Mr. Raisen was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. He came to Asheville in 1948 and opened Ken Jeweler's along with his wife, which they operated until 1982.
Mr. Raisen is survived by his son, Ron Raisen; his sister, Ida Masino of Brooklyn, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd. is assisting the family.
