Kirby Frank Snyder

Kirby Frank Snyder, 98, of 97 Arthur Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Albert William and Hazel Marion Kirby Snyder. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Snyder Moffatt. He was a machinist by trade and printer by hobby. Mr. Snyder retired to Asheville from Pendleton, NY in 1977 and was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Asheville Fellowship Lodge #1175, F&AM, Buffalo, Kenmore-Fidelty Lodge #795, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Buffalo and Associate Member of the Asheville Odd Fellows Lodge #412. He received his 75 year Membership Jewel in 2000 and is now a 78 year member of the Order. A 77 year member of the Rebekah Lodge, currently a member of the Asheville Rebekah Lodge #37, Esther Chapter #12, Order of the Eastern Star and Asheville Court #1 Order of the Amaranth. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Louise Landel Snyder; a son, Kirby Lee Snyder and his wife Suzanne of Amherst, NY; four grandchildren, Brian Snyder and his wife Mary Ann, Bruce Snyder and his wife Denise, Bonnie Kasperek and her husband Raymond and Barry Snyder and his wife Tracy; ten great-grandchildren, Cameron, Corbin, Zachary, Eric, Joseph, Rachel, Melissa, Amber, Brianna and Haley and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Reverend Joe Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at Acacia Park Cemetery, N. Tonawanda, NY at a later date.
