Asheville ~ L. DeWayne Brown, 82, of Asheville, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his residence.
A native of Wythe County, VA, he was a son of the late Herman and Thelma Tarter Brown.
A member of Lake Hills Church, DeWayne was an avid photographer. He was a man of God, who was loved by his Life Group Class and was a former member of the choir.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Brown; two daughters, Jessie Capley and Carolyn Gray; one step-daughter, Kimberly Hart; one son, Dennis DeWayne Brown; two step-sons, Scott Hart and his wife, Lisa and Michael Hart; one brother, H. Darrell Brown; fourteen grandchildren, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service celebrating DeWayne’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 15 at Lake Hills Church with Pastor James I. Walker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.

Such a sweet man who loved the LORD! And adored his wife Phyllis. He walks with Jesus now, and sings with a strong voice. .Deepest sympathy to all who loved him.

DeWayne was a wonderful man who loved our Lord, Phyllis, family, friends, fellowhip……and made the best peanut brittle I’ve ever had!! He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Phyllis, my prayers are with you and you family.
