I only made contact with the family lately. My Grandmother Theresa CURRIE HENDERSON, told me of her brother’s family when I was very much younger, but she had lost touch and when she passed away in 1976, we didn’t have an address to let her niece and nephews know. I made contact with Eddie several years ago and through him contacted Ethel and then Jean. Please know that the remaining CURRIE family share your grief.

I’m an ole Biltmore boy who grew up in the shadow of the White family. L.A. and Neal owned a Transfer Trucking Company up on Reed St. Kathleen had a son, named Gerald. He and I were good buddies back in the 40’s and 50’s. Memory has a way of bringing back those good ole days with all of the White family. They were great people to be around.
So, please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Blessings,
Tommy and Jessie Koontz

Mr. White and his family have all been such good friends to me over the last 20+ years. Its hard to realize that when my older son, Tripp, now 19, was just an infant with a severe case of colic, Mr. White was bringing me old fashion remedies to help him sleep. I can remember so many times answering the Western Carolina Oil Company phone and hearing this voice say ‘Hello Cricket!’. I never knew why he called me that, but I always loved hearing it. He would stop in my office sometimes, just to check on my family.I always loved looking up and seeing him pull up in that big truck. And I cannot count the times, that Mr. White and Mike have ‘saved’ me and Donnie with a broken oil truck. And gosh did Mr. White love Donnie. He enjoyed him coming to the White Transfer office just so he could visit. I owe so much to the entire White family. My heart goes out to Mike, Jean, Justin, Michael, and especially to Mrs. White, for the loss of this extrodinary man. Mr. & Mrs. White, together for 67 years..what a wonderful tribute to the strength and faith that both of them have had over those many years. I am proud to say I knew Mr. White and his entire family and even more thankful to call them ‘dear friends’.
Love Always
‘Cricket’
