Lacy G. Young

Miss Young was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Cicerowe and Ina Howell Young.  She was a retired teacher in the Buncombe County School System and was a member of the AARP, Chapter 101, the UDC Chapter 104, the AAUW, the Literature Club VI, and the WW I Auxiliary.   She was also a member of the Retired School Personnel of Asheville and Buncombe County, the Western Carolina University Alumni Association,  and the First  Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a nephew, Gerald Young and four nieces, Louise Morgan, Rowena Miller, Kathryn Arthur, and Paula Tinsley.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm Tuesday, January 26, 1999, in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Michie officiating.
