Asheville ~ Larry Garfield Bradley, 62, went home to be with his lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at a local hospital. He was born and raised in Buncombe County and was the son of the late Ancel Garfield Bradley and Marie Higgins Bradley of Arden. He attended Chapel Hill Baptist church on Pinners Cove Road and was employed at Taylor Instruments for 19 years. After that he retired from Schwitzer. Mr. Bradley was an avid gardener whose intrigue of nature and kindred spirit touched the hearts of all who loved him. In passing he left behind his loving wife of 41 years, Scarlett Tomberlin Bradley of Asheville; a son, Anthony Garfield Bradley of Asheville; daughter, Connie Lynn Knight of Asheville; two sisters, Libby Bradley Baker and her husband JV Baker of Asheville and Sharon Bradley Davis and her husband Roger of Florence, SC; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat Homer. Funeral services will be held Friday 2:00 P.M. at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with the Revs, Willard Pruitt, Doug Guy and Chris Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road.
