Laura Hopkins O’Conner, 59, of Asheville, NC, passed away on July 20, 2021. She was born in Savannah, Georgia to Lawrence Hopkins and Martha Earle who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her spouse; Robert O’Conner and two children; Zachary O’Conner and Peyton O’Conner all of Asheville, NC. She is survived by a brother; Lee Hopkins, and three sisters; Dawn Linkenhoker, Sandy Hopkins, and Marisha Hopkins. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends.

A graveside service will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Green Hills Cemetery. Mr. Michael Woods of Western Carolina Rescue Mission will officiate. Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Western Carolina Rescue Mission, 225 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 in her memory.

Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.

  5. We are so sorry to hear of Laura’s passing. Laura was a friend to everyone she met. She was a kind neighbor for the 28 yrs we lived there. Always helpful! In the early years she helped me get started homeschooling, watched my boys & helped with gardening advice. She always took the time to stop & talk. Laura will be greatly missed by her family & the Riceville community.
