Lawrence O. Morgan 83, of 197 Hanover Street, Asheville, died Thursday, May 2, 2002.
Mr. Morgan was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Parley and Anna Morgan. He was a former member of the kitchen staffs at Grove Park Inn, Asheville Country Club, and St. Joseph Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Caleb Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Trula Morgan of Asheville, Thelma Johnson of Candler, and Mildred Ridley of Clarksville, GA and two brothers, Albert Morgan of Mills River and Bobby Morgan of Asheville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Caleb Baptist Church with the Revs. David Gosnell and Jeffrey McCurry officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
