Lena King Sharpe

Mrs. Sharpe was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Mark and Ilar M. King.  She was married for 67 years to John H. Sharpe, who died February 13, 1990.  She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and was preceded in death by three sons, Clev, Wilson, and Woodrow Sharpe, and by a son-in-law, Ernest Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter, Blanche Reeves of Candler;  her sister, Mary King and three daughters-in-law, Helen, Dot, and Betty Sharpe, all of Leicester;  nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Stephenson and Charles Phillips officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Reeves, Bruce, Gary, Kenneth and Steve Sharpe and Eddie Neil.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at her daughter's home, 15 Miller Road, Candler.

Mrs. Sharpe will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the servive.
