Leona Benson Cannon, 90, formerly of Homestead Rd., Candler, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Lilly Williams Benson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton L. Cannon, who died in 1977, sister, Irene Benson, and brother, Floyd Benson. Mrs. Cannon was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cannon is survived by her sons, Clarence H. Cannon and wife Bernice, of Candler, and Ralph E. Cannon and wife Evelyn, of Arden; grandchildren, John A. Cannon and wife Kaye, Lesley C. Hutchens and husband Eric, Eric B. Cannon and wife Jane, Karen C. Bauroth and husband Richard, Sharon C. Lingelbach, Kathy C. Clark, and Kimberly C. Smith and husband, Jeff; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Starnes Cove Baptist Church with the Revs. Charlie Sams and Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

I am very sorry to hear that Leona
passed away.
I was not able to attend her service but to all of her family i am very sorry for your lose.
I am her first cusion on the Benson side of her family.
