Leroy "Lee" Joseph Hipp
March 21, 1933 ~ March 19, 2024
Leroy “Lee” Joseph Hipp, 90, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
A native of Saluda, Lee was one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Nora and Henry Hipp. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lula Belle Ledford Hipp; and granddaughter-in-law, Brittany Hipp.
Mr. Hipp worked in the tree business for 40+ years and loved every second of it. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting. He was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 56 years.
He is survived by his sons, Derrick Hipp (Kim) and Danny Hipp (Kim); grandsons, Shawn Hipp, Dillon Hipp (Megan), and Jarrett Hipp (Victoria); and four great-granddaughters, Amy, Addie, Lillie Belle and Ellie Jo.
His family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Rev. Winston Parrish, and Rev. Nathan Hawkins will officiate. Interment will take place the following morning at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler, with Rev. Allen Rash officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 216 Shelburne Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.
