Lillian Miller Womack, 96, a longtime resident of Asheville, died Sunday, February 4, 2001, in a nursing home in Bethesda, MD.

Mrs. Womack was born in Richmond, VA, and was a daughter of the late Ernest H. and Carrie Lipscombe Miller. She was a graduate of Peabody College, Nashville, TN, and lived in Asheville for most of her life.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, the National Society Magna Charta Dames, HArvest House Senior Citizens Club, and the First Presbyterian Church. She was an avid genealogist and bridge player.

Her husband of 56 years, Troy Hubert Womack, died in 1987. They enjoyed traveling together and had been to Europe, the Holy Land, and much of the United States.

She is survived by one son, Franklin E. Womack of Bethesda, and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Ashelawn Gardens with the Rev. Albert G. “Pete” Peery officiating.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 3 Louisiana Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.
