Mills River- Lilly Alexandria Parillo, 21, of Mills River, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at her home on Saturday, November 12, 2011, after being diagnosed with leukemia and having a bone marrow transplant in 2009. A native of Pensacola, FL, she was the daughter of Virginia Ann "CoCo" Borkowski of Mills River and Scott Parillo of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her parents, Lilly is survived by one half-brother, Brandon Parillo of Lawrenceville, GA; maternal grandparents, Claire and Maj. (Ret.) Edmond James Borkowski of St. Petersburg, FL; paternal grandmother, Liz Streck Miller of Lawrenceville, GA; two aunts, Elizabeth Claire Borkowski of Mills River and Andrea Borkowski of Safety Harbor, FL. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Grace Community Church, 495 Cardinal Road, Mills River. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Lilly's memory to CaringBridge at (www.caringbridge.org). Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  6. I never got a chance to meet Lilly, but got to know her through her Aunt Liz. She seemed like a wonderful young lady. It is very sad to see someone go so soon…

  18. Coco and Liz,

    What an amazing girl — she was so special to so many people that knew her, and many she didn’t know. I am a better person for having known her. It is such a bitter-sweet thing in her passing. She had such a difficult time in the last few months/years. The world is a dimmer place without her light in it.

  19. Coco, I am so sorry for you lose, our prayers are with you. I only met Lilly twice, I thought she was an amazing young girl. She is now resting with the Angels. Know she will never be far away and she will always be looking out for you.

  21. Coco I was very sad when I heard the news that Lilly left this earth to make her journey to Heaven. She was so brave. I remember reading your blog on Caring Bridge after she had her transplant and praying for the two of you. She fought a good fight with you beside her every step of the way. You are a GREAT mother!! I know you will miss Lilly so much. We miss you here in Florida and we are all praying for you. You will see your sweet Lilly again one day.   23. Happy 30th Birthday!! Ugh what I would give to he able to celebrate with you today. Some of our best memories were made while celebrating each other’s birthdays. I still have a voicemail of you singing to me on my 21st. You would for sure be out dancing today. I’ll always look for you in rainbows and listen for you in songs. I’ll never stop missing you.
