Linda Carol Hall White, 69, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the CarePartners Solace Center.

A native of Buncombe Co., Linda was a daughter of the late James Edgar Hall and Emma Dean Morgan Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward “Eddie” White, brother-in-law, Tommy Swafford, and nephew, Keith Swafford.

Mrs. White worked as a prepress production composer for the Asheville Citizen Times for 30 years.

She is survived by her sister, Emma Swafford; brothers, Jeff Hall and Steve Hall; nieces and nephews, Travis Swafford (Esther), Nikki Swafford and Stasha Hall; and great-nieces, Maya and Zoë Swafford.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, at Jones Valley Baptist Church Cemetery on Big Sandy Mush, with Pastor Allen Rash officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Women’s Cancer Center, 100 Ridgefield Ct., Asheville, NC 28806.

  1. I worked with Linda for several years. She was the kindest, sweetest, funniest and most down to earth person ever. She made my nights at work so much brighter. She will be missed by so many friends and family.
