Lloyd Olin Baker, 74, of Fletcher, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at home.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Alex and Dollie Lee Baker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean as well as three sisters and three brothers.
He retired from Gerber and was a member of Hoopers Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family, being outdoors and watching his grandsons play baseball.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Burgess and her husband, Roger and Dawn Ramsey and her husband, Chris; two sons, Stoney Baker and his wife Valeria, and Sonny Baker and his wife, April; four brothers, Perry Baker, Eugene Baker, Alex Baker Jr. and J.V. Baker; seven grandchildren, Jeannie, Bobby, Dylan, Dakota, Tyler, Victoria and Kimberly as well as two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Kaitlyn.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Jimmy Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
