Lloyd Richard McHone, 82, of 279 Clayton Avenue, Asheville, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 1, 2005, due to complications from an automobile accident. Mr. McHone was born in Henderson County and was a son of the late Joe Lynn and Irene Redden McHone. He was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters. He was an Army veteran of both WW II and the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was retired from Gerber Products and he attended Temple Baptist Church. He was an avid bowler. Surviving are his wife Audrey Sawyer McHone; a son, William Robert McHone of Asheville; a daughter Donna Ramey Redden and her husband Ray of Leicester; grandchildren, Revonda Ramey Carroll and her husband Chris, Travis Ramey and his wife Carmen, Michael Ramey and Matthew Ramey; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bray officiating. Burial will be at the Michal Family Cemetery in the Bethel community, Haywood County. His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

  3. We are truly sorry to learn of Lloyd’s death. I was in service with him and we shared many memories. I certainly would have been there to pay my respects to him had I known. Deepest sympathy to Bill and all the family.
