Lois Beatrice M. McHone, 83, of 115 Morningside Drive, Asheville, died Thursday, January 11, 2001 in a local nursing facility after an extended illness.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Lola Murray McHone. She was the wife of the late Casone
Faungo McHone Sr.
She retired from Drexel Furniture Co. in 1986 and is a member of Long’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Surviving are her 4 sons, Troy E. McHone and wife Dixie, Frank D. McHone and Mary, C.F. McHone Jr. and wife Juanita, H. Russell McHone
all of Asheville; 4 daughters, Peggy Miller and husband Vestal of Weaverville, Laura Ward and late husband James of Asheville, Linda Rogers and husband Charles of Asheville, Brenda McBee and husband Rev. Roger McBee of Asheville; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-five great- grandchildren; one brother Cecil T. McHone of Asheville; and two sisters, Eloise Ingle of
Asheville and Betty Hargus of Fairview.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Rev.
Dr. Ronnie Owen will officiate with burial following in Mt. Sheba Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends 7-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times will be at 115 Morningside Dr., Asheville.
