Lois Gaddy Rogers

Lois Gaddy Rogers, age 88, of Madison, GA, (formerly of West Asheville), went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2014. A native of Asheville, she was a daughter of the late Henry Gaddy and Emma Gaddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Ponder Rogers, in February of 2005. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Mrs. Rogers is survived by her daughter, Peggy Tilson (Jim) of Madison, GA; son, Douglas H. Rogers (Becki) of High Point; five grandchildren Melissa (John) Brothers, James, Jr. (Amy) Tilson, Rachel (Jake) Lane, Mike Rogers and Jonathan (JJ) Rogers; eight great-grandchildren and one soon to arrive; as well as a brother, Harry Gaddy (Blanche). A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Temple Baptist Church, with the Revs. Randy Bray and James Tilson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Sheba Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church at 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. The family requests that memorials (in lieu of flowers) be made to the Temple Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Renovation project (985-1/2 Patton Ave.) Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
