Lonnie B. Gasperson, 76, of 640 Avery’s Creek Road, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Mountain Area Hospice. A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Gasperson was son of Emory and Hester Mae Gibson Gasperson and was husband to the late Kathleen Beach Gasperson who died in 1980. He retired from the Gerber Corporation and also worked with Globe Security at the Asheville Regional Airport. He was predeceased by three brothers, Harland, Lester and Denny Gasperson and a sister, Bertha Owenby. Mr. Gasperson was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Biltmore Masonic Lodge # 446. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Henderson of Fletcher and Lonita Gasperson of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Effie Graham of Arden; a grandson, Steven Henderson and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the Reverend Roy Rigdon officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Biltmore Masonic Lodge # 446. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P.O.
