Lonnie Leroy Embler, 77, of 1573 Alexander Road, Leicester, died Thursday, January 17, 2002, at a local hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Lonnie L. and Esther Burnette Embler, Sr. He was formerly employed with Biltmore Manufacturing Company and served in the US Army during World War II. He was a former member of French Broad Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Clark Embler; two daughters, Debbie Hyatt of Leicester and Vickie Wallace of Woodfin; two sons, Terry Embler and Ronnie Embler, both of Alexander; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Sunday at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
