Lonnie Nathaniel “Pooly” Burton, 80, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at his residence.
A native of Asheville, Lonnie was a son of the late Sandy and Jessie Mae Hines Burton. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Bowman, Leeyvonne McSwain, James E. Burton and Jerry Burton.
Surviving are his siblings, Carolyn Johnson (Albert), Rose Burton, Annette Mills, Burlois Dixon (Gordon), and Carl Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, James Smith.
A memorial service for Mr. Burton will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Charles Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
