Lorenzo Fritz Lance

Lorenzo Fritz Lance Arden ~ Lorenzo Fritz Lance, 84, of Arden, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Crescent View Retirement Community. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Rev. French and Myrtle Cochran Lance and was also preceded in death by one brother, Morris Lance and an infant twin sister, Inez Lance. A disabled veteran for most of his life, Mr. Lance served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He is survived by one sister, Betty Lou Metcalf and her husband, Calvin, of Mills River; two brothers, Price Lance and his wife, Edna, of Waynesville and French Lance and his wife, Barbara, of Arden as well as one niece and ten nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Averys Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Chaplain Skip Snyder, of Four Seasons Hospice. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Pallia-tive Care, 581 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731.
