Louise Bowers Dillard

Asheville ~ Louise Bowers Dillard, 90, died Saturday, August 16, 2003, at Deerfield Retirement Center. Mrs. Dillard was a native of Richmond, Virginia and was daughter of the late James Baker and Louise Steele Bowers. She was a graduate of Hollins College and was Executive Director of theVirginia Academy of General Practitioners in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Bowers and three brothers, James, George, and Gamble Steele. Surviving is a son, James Coleman Greiner of Wrightsville Beach; one stepdaughter, Lynn Franklin of Richmond, Virginia; a sister, Margaret Gill of Asheville; four grandchildren, Rebecca Wise of Walhalla, S.C., Beverly McArthur of Fletcher, N.C., Jeff Greiner of Asheville, N.C., Jamie Greiner of Chattanooga, TN. and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am Monday in Giles Chapel of Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Center with the Reverend Morgan Gardner officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hollins College Scholarship Fund.
