Louise Godfrey Butler

A native of Henderson County, Mrs. Butler was a daughter of the late Catherine Summey Godfrey and Albert Godfrey.

Mrs. Butler retired from Vanderbilt Shirt Factory as a sewing machine operator and was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Rex M. Butler of the home; a daughter, Shirley Lamb of Leicester; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Ray of Baltimore, MD, Eva Huntsinger and Ella Mae Morrow, both of West Asheville and a brother, William Godfrey of Arden.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Reverends Jack Presnell and Cecil Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 PM Saturday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road where Mrs. Butler will remain until thirty minutes prior to the service.
