Fletcher ~ Louise Tate Owens, 73, of 14 South Garden Drive, Fletcher, died Friday, December 23, at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she spent most of her later childhood in Salisbury, NC. She was the daughter of the late James Coye and Virginia Morris Tate. She was employed most of her life as an accountant and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Raymond D. Owens of Fletcher; a daughter, Deborah K. Gant of Charlotte; son, Craig D. Owens and wife Diane of Rincon, GA; four grandchildren, Amanda Gant Smith and husband Jimmy H. of Columbia, SC, Andrew Gant of Charlotte, Hunter and Nick Downing Owens both of Rincon, GA; sister, Suzanne Tate Morrow and husband Paul E. of Fletcher; nephew, Matthew Tyler Morrow of Fletcher. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday at the home of Mrs. Owens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 2395, Hendersonville, NC 28793 or to Blue Ridge Humane Society, 88 Centipede Lane, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
