Lovella Gallamore Glenn, 82, of Asheville died Friday, February 8, 2008, in an Asheville health care facility. Born at "Pine Top" on the Biltmore Estate, Mrs. Glenn was a daughter of the late Thomas James and Thelma Gaddy Gallamore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Fulton Glenn, who died in 1964; sisters, Freida Radcliff Crawford of Asheville and Estelle Williams of Crewe, VA. Mrs. Glenn had worked in sales at Bon Marche, John Carroll and Proffitts and was the former owner/operator of Janie's Beauty Shop in Canton. She was a member of Canton Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Stockton and husband Ronald E., of Candler; brothers, Wayne T. Gallamore and wife Joanne of Candler and Calvin J. Gallamore and wife Annette of Arvonia, VA. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Avery's Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Beverly Brock officiating. Her family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to the American Heart Association Memorial Center, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058 23058 or the Alzheimer's Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801-2644.

  4. Dear Barbara, I am sorry to hear of Aunt Lovella’s death. I have not seen her in many years but my childhood memory of Aunt Lovella was a beautiful, classy lady. May God comfort and bring His peace to you.

  5. Barbara, I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Lovella. She is at peace now with Mamaw, Papaw, Uncle Tom, Mama and Aunt Estelle. I know this is a difficult time for you, but God will lift you up and ease the pain in time. Our time will come when we will get to join them all again and it will be a great family reunion.
