Paul Green, 99, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his residence in Inman, SC. Mr. Green was born in and a native of Asheville until he moved to Inman, SC 3 years ago to be closer to family. He was a son to the late Menta Hensley Green and William Henry Green. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Green who died in 2014. Paul was a Lt. Col. (Retired) of the U.S. Army and served in the Philippines. He was a 1938 graduate of NC State University and retired from the American Enka Corporation as Plant Manager. He was a member of the Wolfpack Club and the National Engineering Society. He was also an avid fly fisherman and golfer. He is survived by his two children, Judy Rhodes and her husband, David of Boiling Springs, SC and Michael Green and his wife, Carol of Greenville, SC; a sister, Iva Lee Rhymer of Tryon, NC; a grandson, Ted Gordon (Tammy) of Boiling Springs, SC; step grandsons, Jeff Rhodes of Duncan, SC and Kevin Rhodes of Hendersonville; great grandchildren, Colby Blackwell, Will Gordon and Killian Rhodes and a great great grandchild, Edie Blackwell. A special thank you to his caregivers Bryanna, Chrissy, Karri, Jasmine, & Kayla. They gave him so much of themselves. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher.
