Helen Lucille Meadows Casada, known affectionately as “Cill,” 81, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
A native of Buncombe Co., Cill was a daughter of the late Steve and Margaret Edwards Meadows. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyle William Casada, and her sister, Dorothy Thomas.
Cill was a dedicated, longtime member of Highland Baptist Church, where she also served as Secretary and Treasurer.
Mrs. Casada is survived by her daughters, Joyce Fender and Darlene Stratton (David); special friend, Gaylyn Justice; sister, Glenda Marlor and her son, Steven; niece, Toni Schrader (Steve) and their children, Tyler and Kade; special grandchildren, Shannon Ward (Derrick) and Tim Fender (Shelly); special great-grandchildren, Christian and Sammy Jo; special great-great-grandchildren, Aniyah, Jordan and Jenny; and several special nieces, nephews and friends.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, at Highland Baptist Church Cemetery. The Revs. Gene Turner and Ron McMahan will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church, 11 Horseback Lane, Marshall, NC 28753.

Mrs. Cassida was such a sweet and kind-hearted lady who touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed. All of us at Appalachian Pressure Washing cherished our visits to help with her house, and we are grateful for the memories we shared.
