Lucille DeHart Medford

Lucille DeHart Medford, 92, of Asheville, died on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Swain Co., Lucille was a daughter of the late Arville and May Truitt DeHart. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Blaine Medford; daughter, JoAnne Medford Tyree; son, David Gordon Medford; son-in-law, Robert Emory, whom she said was always like a son; sister, Annie Ruth Robinson; and brother, Newell DeHart. Mrs. Medford retired from Mars Manufacturing. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Medford Emory, of Candler; son, Donald Medford, of Asheville; sisters, Mary Jane Freeman, of Aberdeen, WA, and Rhonda Richardson, of High Point, NC; grandsons, Mark Joseph Medford and wife Christine, and Adam Ryan Medford and wife Jennifer; and great-grandson, Jacob Blaine Medford. Graveside services for Mrs. Medford will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler.
