Mrs. Beverly was born in Los Angeles, California to the late Collie Thomas Latimer, Jr. and Eleanor Powell Latimer. She moved to High Point, NC at the age of three where she later attended High Point College, graduating with honors.
Lucy had a zest for life that was contagious to those around her. She started and operated Asheville Connections; a real estate property management company in Asheville. A gifted athlete with an immaculate sense of style, Lucy enjoyed ballroom dancing, writing, traveling, playing tennis and had been a champion swimmer in her youth. She was a fun loving free spirt and loved her family.
Lucy is survived by her two children, Robert “Brent” Samuels (Mary) and Melanie Samuels Gardner (Greg); two sisters, Sue Latimer and Joy Taylor; a brother, Tom Latimer (Jennie); six grandchildren, Mary Caitlin Heintzelman (Alex), Conor Samuels, Maddy Samuels, Sam Gardner, Hollyn Gardner and Millie Gardner and a nephew, Powell Latimer (Tyler) and great nephew, Elliot.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

We only knew Lucy for a short while but really enjoyed talking with her when we would meet out walking. She was always so friendly and seemed to be so happy and excited that we were her neighbor. Our prayers are with you during the days ahead.

As her older sister, Lucy and I share many family adventures from California to moving to High Point.she was indeed a free spirit who liked to share the mysteries of life.
