Lula Price Waldroup

Lula Waldroup, 74, of Leicester, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, at the John F. Keever, Jr., Solace Center. Born in Madison Co. on May 29, 1935, Mrs. Waldroup was a daughter of the late Taylor and Harriette Henline Price. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Waldroup; daughter, Lula Ellen Waldroup; and grandson, Teddie Lee Waldroup, Jr. Mrs. Waldroup is survived by her sons, Bobby Waldroup and wife Sheila, Ronnie Waldroup and wife Jenny, Harold Waldroup, and Teddie Waldroup and wife Tracy; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evonne Price, and Ruby Sexton; brother, Dill Price; and special friends, Robert Bailey, and Jerry Haynes. A graveside service for Mrs. Waldroup will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Spring Creek, Madison Co., with the Rev. Bill Ponder officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Bailey, Jeff Caldwell, Jerry Haynes, Brandon Waldroup, Donnie Waldroup, Luke Sutton, Patrick Roberts, and Roger Branham. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Donations may be made to Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Ave., Asheville, NC 28806 to assist with funeral expenses.
