Mabel Case Bishop, 94, of Candler, died on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Bishop was a daughter of the late Charles and Lydia Jones Case. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James Arthur Bishop; son, James Luther Bishop; son-in-law, Kay F. Crowder; and all of her siblings.
Mrs. Bishop had attended Good News Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Helen Ingle and husband Tim, and Hazel Crowder; sons, Wayne Bishop and wife Eleanor, and Herman Bishop; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mrs. Bishop will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I am so sad to learn of Mabel’s passing, especially since my mother also passed yesterday. We grew up next door and would go over to play with Darrell. She was always such a sweet lady to us kids. I pray for comfort and peace for your family.
