Mabel Ray Davidson Kiser, 92, of Chinquapin Trail, Fairview, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Flesher’s Fairview Health Care Center. Mrs. Kiser was a Buncombe Co. native and was a daughter of the late W.C. and Junia F. Davidson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Kiser; sister, Ethel Stephens; and brothers, Howard, Alvin, and John Davidson. Mrs. Kiser was a member of Oakley United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Griffin, of Fairview, and Barbara King, of Mills River; granddaughters, Kristy Hoyle, and Jennifer Jackson; grandson, Robert Griffin and wife Ruby; great-granddaughter, Hartlee Hoyle; great-grandsons, Joshua Jackson, Eli Jackson, and Caleb Griffin; nieces, Billie S. Rayl, and Sally Gunn; several great-nieces and nephews; and special friend, Betty Arrowood. A graveside service for Mrs. Kiser will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Pierce officiating. Memorials may be made to Oakley United Methodist Church, 607 Fairview Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.

  4. Nancy I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I have many fond memories of her from CP Clare, where she worked for a very long time. She was so sweet & joyful. She is like that again in Heaven…she will be having such a joyful time. May God Bless you & give you comfort.

    I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom and grandmother, Mabel. I loved her very much and miss seeing her, she was a very funny lady! Always enjoyed times spent with her and will cherish those memories. Know that you’re in my prayers. We miss you guys.
