Mabel Virginia Jenkins, 94, formerly of Asheville, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 in Richmond, VA. Mabel was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Vanson Gerome and Lola Sherlin Jenkins and sister of the late Clyde D. Jenkins. She was a retired supervisor with the Asheville Hosiery Mill and was a member of the Asheville Wesleyan Church. She is survived by two nephews, Joseph Michael Jenkins and his wife Tanya of Winston-Salem and Samuel Wayne Jenkins and his wife Denise of Richmond as well as five great nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Glenn Weaver officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Asheville Wesleyan Church, 100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.
