Madelienne Chapman Moscowitz

Asheville ~ Madelienne Chapman Moscowitz, 82, of Hilltop Road, Asheville, died on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at her residence. A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Moscowitz was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Vera DeShano Chapman. She was won the Miss New York pageant in 1940. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Morris Moscowitz of Asheville; two daughters, Joan Johnson and husband Lyman and Lynn Deerfield all of St. Louis, MO: three sons, Mark and his wife Adrienne, Michael Hirschfeld and David Carter all of St. Louis; three step-sons, James Moscowitz and wife Amy of Minnetonka Minn, John Moscowitz of Toronto, Canada and Robert Moscowitz of Santa Monica, CA; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; special family friend, DeDe Long of Asheville. The family will receive friends Thursday at the home, 45 Hilltop Road, Asheville from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P.O. Box 25338 Asheville, NC 28813.
