Madie Watts Hawkins Passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at the age of 103.
Mrs. Hawkins was born October 9, 1919, in Buncombe County to the late Garland and Dessie Warren Watts. She was married to A.D. “Bull Dog” Hawkins, who died in 1991. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church and was retired from the cafeteria at St. Joseph Hospital.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Hawkins, Judith Goode and Elaine Hawkins, and sons, Don Hawkins and Ron Hawkins, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Blankenship, a grandson, James Goode, a great-grandson, Trent Goode, six brothers and four sisters.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Acton United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Will Gaines officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children in Black Mountain.
