Mae Banther Devore, 95, born January 12, 1921, to Taylor and Nellie Banther, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Devore, daughters, Gladys, Gertrude and Edith, brothers Charlie Banther and Cos Banther and sister, Alice Tillitson.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail Elliott (Robert) and Betty Chapman (Roy); a sister Dora Wines; a brother John Banther; several nieces and nephews, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Anders Cemetery at Lake Toxaway, NC, with the Rev. Donnie Harris officiating.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to all the staff of Pisgah Manor for their loving care while she was in their care.

My sweet friend, Betty, and family, please know that I love you and will hold you up in my prayers as I understand the pain you feel having to face the tomorrows of life without your mother, especially this time of year as my mom passed away at this time of year also.
