Mae Lena Elliott, 83, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
A native of Buncombe County, Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Howard Elliott. Mae was the daughter of George Richard and Lilly Robeson Green. Mae was also preceded in death by sisters, Alda Huntley and Gail Green, and brothers, Linton, Greg and Alvin Green.
Mae loved the Lord and trusted Him as her Savior. She attended Trinity Baptist Church after moving back to Asheville in 2019. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, Mamaw and friend to all.
Mae is survived by her son, Mark Elliott and his wife, Kim; granddaughter, Amanda Dryman and her husband, Dewayne; grandson, Matthew Elliott and his wife, Lauryl; great-grandchildren, Solomon and Chloe Dryman, and Elora and Eloise Elliott; sister, Virginia Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Matthew Elliott and Dewayne Dryman will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The Elliott family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Aston Park Health Care Center staff and Kim Iamurri with Optum Care for their exceptional, loving care shown to Mae.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mae’s name to Trinity Baptist Church Missions Ministry, 216 Shelburne Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

Mark and Kim so sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful lady.
