Mae Lovingood Hyatt, 89, of 55 Misty Lane, Candler, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in a
Candler nursing center.
Mrs. Hyatt was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Rev. Noah Lovingood and
Tinie Abernethy Lovingood. She was married to Joe H. Hyatt who died in 1990. Mrs. Hyatt was also preceded in death by a grandson Bobby
Michael Hyatt, sisters Ruby Lunsford and Alice Trull, brothers Owen Lovingood, and N. L. Lovingood She was a member of New Morgan Hill
Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Bobby Joe Hyatt and his wife Joann of Candler; one granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Hixon and her husband Chuck of Candler; three
great-grandchildren, Mark, Caylan, and Matthew Hixon; sisters, Ruth Wilkey, Juanita Tweed and Mary Lou Allen; a brother, Verdon Lovingood.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with
the Rev. Roy Houston officiating. Burial will be at New Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
