Maggie Lee Kent Roberts, 74 of Arden, NC was promoted to her heavenly home on Friday, March 8, 2013 with her family by her side.
Maggie was the daughter of the late Lee Roosevelt Kent and Maggie Lucille Rathburn of Marshall. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Lee Kent. Maggie was the wife of the late Dan Richeson Roberts who died on November 20, 2010. He was the love of her life with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.
Maggie was a 1957 graduate of Lee Edwards High School. She retired in 1996 from Estes Elementary School as a Teacher Assistant with 25 years of service. She was also a member of Long Shoals Baptist Church and loved her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Laughter and her husband Jerry of Fletcher, Debra Presley and her husband John of Arden, grandchildren, McKenzie Owenby and husband Wayne, Jacob Laughter and his wife Shannon, Seth Laughter, Mallory Thomas and husband Lane, great-grandchildren, Eli Rome Laughter, Moriah Kassidy Owenby and Karlie Reese Laughter.
Graveside services for Maggie will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Roberts Memorial Park on Long Shoals Road with the Reverend Roger Reardon officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Long Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 116 Long Shoals Road Arden, NC 28704.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.
