Mamie Conner Mashburn, 90, of 119 Dogwood Road, Candler, died Saturday, February 23, 2013. Mrs. Mashburn was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late James Hobart and Augusta Beachboard Conner. She was married to Oscar Mashburn, who died in 1990, and was also preceded in death by sisters, Maggie Lunsford and Oma Lee Conner, brothers, Jimmy Conner, Robert Conner, and Burnice Conner; son-in-law, Harrison Warren and daughter-in-law, Tina Taylor Mashburn. Mrs. Mashburn was a member of Cedar Hill Freewill Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Rosa Sexton (David) and Ruby Warren; sons, Ronnie Mashburn, Bud Mashburn (Donna), Kenneth Mashburn (Glenda), Gary Mashburn (Debbie) and Mike Mashburn (Kathy); sister-in-law, Yvonne Conner; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Keith Hutchinson and The Rev. Randy Gregg officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Larry Collins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  15. Heaven Just got one of the most awesome woman God created. I have wonderful memories of my childhood going to Aunt Mamie’s house on Sundays with Rhonda, Ronnie and Tina. I am truly blessed just knowing such a woman like that. God Bless the family ya’ll are in our thoughts.
