Marcus “Marc” Albert Lanthier, 88, of Arden, died Monday, February 20, 2023 at Mission Hospital.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was the husband of Sally (Watrous) Lanthier, and the son of the late Albert and Rose (LaPorte) Lanthier. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Lanthier; a brother, James Liberty; a sister, Irene Tague; and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Lanthier.

Marc was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

He received his degree in plumbing and heating from Erie County Tech in Buffalo, NY. His work in the nuclear field took him to Poland, Korea, and the former Yugoslavia. Marc was able to converse in French, Polish, and Korean.

In addition to his wife of 27 years, he is survived by five sons: Randy and his wife Lori, Kerry, Mark, Colvin and his wife Medina, and Colin Lanthier and his wife Joann; one daughter, Marklyn Vitello and her husband Frank; three stepchildren: Christopher Moffet and his wife Tracy; Teresa Moffet; and Deborah Robinson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church with Father Adrian Porras officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard. Friends and family will be received from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to the service at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
