Margaret Hall Fawcett, 69, died unexpectedly Monday, May 22, 2023, at her home.

Margaret was born January 3, 1954, in Asheville to the late Paul E. “Pete” and Vernelle Hall. She was a graduate of Erwin High School and received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from A-B Tech. She spent the majority of her professional career as an LPN at Mission Hospital in the ER and NICU departments.

Margaret always lit up a room, never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She was a beloved caregiver, wife, mother and daughter. She loved horses, riding and her beloved basset hound, Molly. She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Fawcett; daughter, Lindsay Freeman (Justin); son, Matt Fawcett (Michelle) and grandchildren, Cheyenne, Emma, Hunter and Olivia.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at Grace United Methodist Church, 876 Newfound Rd., Leicester, NC 28748.

  1. Margaret was always kind and friendly to me she always had a beautiful smile and I remember her as a NICU nurse working with all those babies that needed her. May her family find peace in the coming days.

  2. Very sad to learn of Margaret’s passing. We grew up and went to church together at Grace. She was a special lady. Rest in peace.

    • I am sad and shocked to hear of Margaret’s passing. We have been friends since we were both little girls playing with our dolls. Her grandfather, Rev Vernon Hall, pastored our church at the time. Margaret will be greatly missed.

  3. Never have, and never will forget Margaret. Lots of laughs and smiles fill my memories when I think of her. I know that you, her family, and her close circle of friends, will miss her immensely. My condolences go out to you all.

  8. This is a real shock to everyone that new Maggie. We went to school together and you never saw her without a smile on her face. My deepest condolences to her precious family. You will be in my prayers today and the days ahead.

  9. Maggie has been a good friend since high school and church youth group. She was always kind and sensitive to others’ needs, making her an excellent nurse, and was so proud of her family. Rest in peace, sweet soul.
