Margaret K. Smith

Margaret Kavanaugh Smith, 90, of 100 Riceville Road, Asheville, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 at a local nursing home. A native of London, England, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Theresa Nelis Kavanaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon D. Smith, who died in 2001. Mrs. Smith is survived by a sister, Joan Wildi, of South Wales, England. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Laurels of Summit Ridge with the Reverend Donald N. Welborn officiating. Burial was at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
