Margie Barnes Stanley

Margie Barnes Stanley, 88, formerly of Asheville, died Sunday, January 31, 2016, in Pittsboro, NC. A native of Robeson County, Mrs. Stanley was a daughter of the late Julius Norman and Lala Mae Scott Barnes, and she was married for 69 years to Alfred B. Stanley, who died January 14, 2016. She was retired from the Eaton Corp. Surviving are her son, Larry D. Stanley, D.Min. and wife Gilda; daughter, Lynne Moore and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Heather S. Underwood, Margie B. Johnson and husband, Lee, Sherry M. Hannah and husband, Brent, and Steven M. Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Carlee and Hunter Johnson. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Matthew Gunter (West Asheboro, NC Church of God) officiating. The service will conclude at the funeral home chapel, but interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
