Margie Rella Bennett, 85, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Center, Candler, NC.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Cherry Grove, WV, and was a daughter of the late Darlie A. and Mary Elizabeth Nelson Bennett. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Violet Bennett, Sylvia Bennett, Evelyn Anderson and Mary Ruckman, a brother Lymond Bennett, and by her foster parents Sterile and Ruth Smith.
Miss Bennett was a former resident of Baltimore, MD where she was employed in research with the W.R. Grace Chemical Research Co. from 1943 to 1986. While there she was a member of Lansdown United Methodist Church.
After moving to Asheville, Miss Bennett was cared for by a niece and her husband, Linda and Oakley Reese, and became affiliated with Pole Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Hilda Gordon of Franklin, WV, Leola Genobles of Spartanburg, SC, and Cornelia Hutchins of Baltimore; two brothers, Randy Bennett of Lexington, NC and Herman Bennett of Elkton, VA; a foster brother Charles Smith of Harrisonburg, VA; a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins, including Olden Wilfong, Jr. of Baltimore.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Baltimore with the Revs. William A. Herche, Jr. and Mike Johnson officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Ambrose Funeral Home, Arbutus Chapel, in Baltimore.
I was gratefull to be a part of margies life. She was full of energy when I met her. I will allways miss my princess margie.She never failed to have a smile and I know she is smileing now. Linda and oakley, you took such great care of her and she was allways greatfull. she was very lucky to have you.
