A native of Durham, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Duke and Fannie Hobgood Barker and wife of the late Thomas Albert England, Sr., who died in 1974. She was also preceded in death by a son, William B. England.
Mrs. England is survived by five sons, Thomas A. England, Jr. of Greenville, SC, Robert M. England of Burnsville, George F. England of Wilson, NC, John L. England of Chamblee, GA and Michael F. England of Asheville; one sister, Ada Cole of Asheville; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be said at 11 am Thursday in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church by Rev. Father John M. Pagel. Interment will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
