Maria Halka-Rys, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday January 23, 2014.
Maria was born September 19, 1917 in Krakow Poland. She moved to the United States, where she resided for 40 years. She was preceded by her husband Stanislaw Rys. She is survived by her son Marek, his wife Kasia, and their three children; Michal, Adam, and Joasia.
Maria was an enthusiastic gardener and cat lover. But more importantly, she was a loving mother and an amazing grandmother who cherished her family. She will be missed by those who knew her.
A memorial service for Mrs. Halka-Rys will be on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.

I am so sorry to have read of your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. Something that I have personally found to be of great comfort is what the Bible says at John 5:28, 29 as well as Revelation 21:4. These verses show us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family as well. Again I am so sorry for your loss.
