A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County she was a daughter of the late Jimmy Joe and Bertha Shook Johnson. She was retired from National Linen.
She is survived by two sons, Junior and Kenneth Blankenship of Asheville; two brothers, Royce and John Will Johnson of Asheville and four grandchildren, Michelle, Katie, Lauren and Matthew Blankenship and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Freeman and Gary Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
