Marie Rasmussen DeLong

A native of Elsinore, Utah, she was the daughter of the late Lars and Eva Rebecca Peterson Rasmussen and wife of the late Jack DeLong, who died in 1979.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Ann Smith of Fairfax, Va., Sharon DeLong of Asheville; two sons, Patrick DeLong of Laurel, Md., Gregory DeLong of Brookneal, Va.; three sisters, Laura Quartararo of New Port Richey, Fla., Virginia Curry of Apple Valley, Calif., Evelyn Dilonardo of Covina, Calif.; two brothers, Harold Rasmussen of Ogden, Utah, Jay Rasmussen of Las Vegas, Nev. and 3 grandchildren, Katrina Marie Smith, Leslie Margaret Smith and Melinda Sue Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 4 pm Tuesday, April 11, at Pisgah Gardens Cemetery in Brevard conducted by Bishop Thomas S. Helms, Jr.

She was a very dear Mom and a wonderful Grandmother to my children. I’ll miss her greatly.

I have very fond memories of Aunt Marie. I remember when the DeLongs would come to our house on vacation, we would play and be making alot of noise. Aunt Marie was always very quiet and gentle. I remember that she smiled alot, especially when her children were in the room.
